During the years of the fierce resistance war against invasion, many compatriots and soldiers have sacrificed their lives, blood and strength on the battlefields. In June 1947, representatives of the Viet Minh General Headquarters, the Women's Union for National Salvation, the Political Bureau of the Vietnam National Army, the Department of Information and Propaganda and a number of localities had a meeting to discuss the anniversary of war invalids and martyrs. and protect war invalids and martyrs. The conference agreed to take July 27, 1947 as "National Invalids and Invalids Day", and in July 1955, renamed it "Invalids and Martyrs' Day" to recognize the great sacrifices and contributions of the war invalids and martyrs. compatriots and soldiers throughout the country for the glorious victory of the whole nation.
